(Woodhull, NY) Woodhull Raceway owners and promoters, Terry and Niki Brewer will celebrate the inaugural Honoring Alice Night at the historic Steuben County Speedway on Saturday, August 6, 2022.
“Alice Williams was a very special person. She along with her late husband, Jim owned and promoted the Woodhull Raceway thru the first thirty-three years of the track existence. After the track was sold Alice was still a frequent visitor cheering on her two sons, Mike and Steve along with all the other competitors. Alice had been known as the First Lady of Woodhull and with her passing last year it is our honor to present the First Annual Honoring Alice event.”
The Brewers are going all out for this event as the Insinger Performance Modifieds will run a special 50 lap feature with the winner picking up a check in the amount of $5,500 with the event paying $400 just to take the green flag. The format will be draw/redraw and all Woodhull Raceway Modified regular competitors will get show up points only.
The payout is the largest purse structure for a non-sanctioned Modified event in the track’s existence.
“We wanted to put up a huge purse for this Modified event, claimed Niki Brewer. This track has a reliable core group of weekly Modified drivers many of which have supported this facility for many years. Many are second generation pilots that grew up at this place.
In addition to the Mod Squad all the rest of the weekly classes will be in action including the NAPA Crate Sportsman, the Armstrong RUSH Crate Late Models as well as the Joe Willcox Performance Street’s. The Hobby Stocks, Wicked Tee’s Mini and Warrior Divisions along with the Front Wheel Drives will round the card.
A trio of great marketing partners will come together to sponsor the August 6, 2022 event including Insinger Performance of Dushore, Pa. Bruce Insinger has been supporting the Woodhull Raceway for decades and is pleased to see his companies name attached to this premier Modified event. Insinger Performance is the Official Fuel Supplier of the Woodhull Raceway.
Owners Brad and Kim Harrington of BH Logging, CR. 103 in Woodhull will also be a co-sponsor of the event. Buyers and sellers of logs, BH also offers log hauling to various locations throughout the region. Harringtons are also the owners of the potent #21 Modified driven by Mike Bills. Over the years the Harrington Family has had such greats as Don and Donnie Lawson, Walt Mitchell, Lyle Sherwood, John Moravec, Alan Johnson, Gil Tegg, Mike and Stacy Jackson, Bill and Mike Williams, Aaron Jacobus, Brian Swarthout, Bryce and Brandon Martin, Kenny Peoples Jr., Casey Pavlick, Wayne Robertson, Boyd MacTavish and others wheel their equipment.
Rounding out the trifecta of great sponsors will be Dave’s Custom Logging of Westfield, Pa. Dave Youse is one heck of a hard -working guy. Logging never comes easy and when he’s not in the woods he is working on son, Cole Youse’s potent #8 Modified. Dave’s Custom Logging is in Westfield, Pa and can be found on Facebook. Look for Cole Youse to be a threat in the Honoring Alice 50 lap event.
Pit gates for the Honoring Alice Event at the Woodhull Raceway will open at 3:30 pm with the main grandstand seating area to follow at 4:30 pm.
A larger than normal crowd is expected for this event so fans are encouraged to come early to avoid the potential of long ticket lines.
