Woodhull Raceway Cancels First Practice Event Of 2022

Story By: KENNY SHUPP JR PROMOTIONS AND CONSULTING LLC

Woodhull, NY - It is always a crap shoot when any northeast racetrack tries to open in early April. Sometimes it works, sometimes not and that is the case for the April 2, 2022 practice date at the Woodhull Raceway.

According to Niki Brewer, “There has been some freezing weather the past few weeks and we have not been able to get much spring cleanup work done at the track. We just cannot take a chance on turning on the water for our restrooms and concession stands without the potential of a freeze up. That coupled with the fact the pits and grandstand parking lots are saturated and soft. It is better to just pull the plug now and try it again on Saturday, April 9.”

With the April 9 test and tune date it still gives race teams ample time to shake down their mounts for the season opener on April 16. The Modifieds first race of the season is set for April 23.

Gates for practice open at 4:00 pm with the track open from 6:00 until 9:00 pm.

There will be a pit entry fee to cover insurance and overhead costs, however grandstand admission is free for the April 9 practice date.
