(Woodhull, NY) After giving way to a NAPA 602 Crate Sportsman season opening special event on April 16, the Mighty Insinger Performance Modifieds will have their first full night of competition on April 23 and track owners, Terry and Niki Brewer will do it in a big way.
“We are going to start the Insinger Performance Modifieds right off with a $2,000 to win thirty lap special. We have an excellent crop of Modifieds that have supported the Woodhull Raceway for decades. Many of the drivers are second and third generation and we want to start their season off with a nice pay day.” That according to the Brewer’s.
Billy VanPelt will be the odds-on favorite to pick up where he left off at the end of the 2021 campaign as he nailed the season ending event in mid-September in route to his twenty-third track title. However, BVP need not look hard to find a large group of hungry drivers that continue to chip away at his Woodhull supremacy. Wheelmen like Brady Fultz, Donnie Lawson, Dayton Brewer, Cory Costa and Brian Doolittle are all second-generation drivers with each having the ingredients to win on any given race night. Cousins Joe and Jake Dgien have upped their respective programs over the winter months with Joe Dgien looking to back his 2021 season opening victory. Add in others like Josh Nobriga and Don Silvernail and you have the makings of an impressive two grand to win Modified lid lifter.
April 23 will also mark the first Great 8 Show as 2022 marks the 57th consecutive season of action at the famed Steuben County race facility.
The NAPA Sportsman will also be on the card along with the Armstrong RUSH Crate Late Models as well as the Joe Willcox Performance Street Stocks. Rounding out the night of action will be the Hobby Stocks, Mini Stocks, Front Wheel Drives and Woodhull Warriors.
