(WOODHULL, NY) – If you go to your favorite dirt track and love the full-fendered divisions that compete, Woodhull Raceway has a show right up your alley for Saturday night.
Joe Willcox Performance Automatics will present Saturday's Full Fendered Frenzy and the 4th Annual Woodhull 100 for the Street Stock competitors. Also in competition will be a 30-lap $600-to-win Crate Sportsman special, 30-lap $500-to-win Hobby Stock special, Round 2 of the Front Wheel Drive Challenge Series paying $400 to the winner of their 20-lap feature go. Open Mini Stocks will also be on the card.
What started as an extra-distance, extra-purse race for the local racers has now blossomed into one of the biggest races for all street stock drivers from over 5 to 6 different tracks. Drivers running for bigger payouts as well as lap money and huge bragging rights for the impending offseason.
The Woodhull 100 is a 100-lap event paying a cool $1,000-to-win and $100 just to take the green flag. Glenn Whritenour used patience to win the 2017 running of the 100, sending Kurt Stebbins home disappointed after Stebbins led 92 of the 100 scheduled laps. With over $11,000 in purse money and contingency money and prizes, the ‘Woodhull 100’ will not disappoint in 2018.
Rules for Woodhull's Street Stock Challenge Series and the Woodhull 100 will follow Woodhull’s Open Street Stock rules which are as follows:
Any steel small block engine
Must run (1) two barrel carburetor
10 inch maximum width on any tire
No 3-Link or Late Model type chassis. Must have stock Front Clip. Clip cars MUST be 2" x 3" Steel tubing from 36" behind centerline of front wheels to centerline of rear axle and must go over rear axle.
No weight rule
Joe Willcox Performance Automatics, located in the Gaines/Westfield, PA area, will also be on hand to present the action and welcome all Street Stock competitors. Also supporting Woodhull Raceway as the Street Stock division sponsor, Street Stock King of the Ring sponsor and sponsor of the Junior Fan Program, the dynamic duo of Joe and Jean Willcox are Woodhull fixtures that give back a great deal to Southern Tier racers from their self-proclaimed 'little operation in Westfield.'
Two other great Woodhull Raceway sponsors have teamed up to support the first season of the Woodhull Raceway Street Stock Challenge Series.
Lias Tire of Indiana, Pennsylvania, the Northeast distributor for American Racer Tires, and Insinger Performance/Sunoco Race Fuels of Dushore, Pennsylvania will offer a great contingency program for those that support the Challenge Series.
Lias Tire will kick it off by awarding a Free tire to the top three finishing cars that are competing on American Racer tires. The racer will have their choice of Street Stock tire in stock at the track in exchange for their certificate.
In addition to the top three finishing cars on American Racers, Lias Tire has also chipped in an additional tire to be given away as part of the Lucky 7 Lap Money program for the Woodhull 100 on September 22. Drivers running in the top seven will earn lap money opportunities for cash awards that are a minimum of $20 or prizes of higher value.
Insinger Performance Fuels, the leading distributor of 99% pure methanol in the Northeast and New England, will also get in on the giveaways for the three-race Challenge Series. Each qualifying heat race winner during 2018 Challenge Series competition, will earn 5 gallons of Sunoco 110 fuel.
