(WOODHULL, NY) – With much speculation circling race teams in the Southern Tier since the removal of the 360 Late Model division at Woodhull Raceway, owner and promoter Ted White is happy to announce that the 604 Crate Late Model division will indeed be added to the 2017 weekly lineup at "New York's Toughest Bullring".

The move comes on the heels of a run of more than a decade with the 360 Late Model division that Gary Montgomery spearheaded in the early 2000's. The 360 Late Models had a successful run at Woodhull Raceway, but with numbers decreasing over the past several seasons and the rise of Crate Late Model racing in New York and Pennsylvania- the time to switch was right for 2017. "We had a great run with the 360's and we want to thank each and every 360 team that competed with us at Woodhull during that run," said White when contacted on Friday. "We are excited to add the Crate Late Models and look forward to building this class up as we go. Racers who compete at area tracks with their Crates will be able to follow the same rules when they come to Woodhull, and we hope they will come take the challenge of racing here at the Bullring." The 604 Crate Late Model division at Woodhull Raceway will follow the RUSH Crate Late Model rule package, although Woodhull will not be a RUSH sanctioned track due to the Saturday night sanctions at Genesee Speedway and Fulton Speedway. The Crate Late Models will utilize 604 GM Crate powered engines and compete on Hoosier tires. A meeting will be announced in the future for interested teams to meet with White and the tech team to go over the ground rules and procedures for the new division. "Late Models have had a storied past here at Woodhull and we want to see that continue well into the future," stated White. The 604 Crate Late Models will join the 370 Modifieds, Crate Sportsman Modifieds, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Front Wheel Drives and Woodhull Warriors for the 2017 season. Woodhull Raceway will crown their 2016 track champions this coming weekend at their annual awards banquet at Watson Homestead in Painted Post, NY. Billy Van Pelt, Chris Daugherty, Bruce Miller, Kurt Stebbins, Chris Woodard, Shawn Gleason, Nate Freeland and Ajay Potrzebowski Jr. will all be crowned on Saturday night. The annual Arnot Mall Car Show in Horseheads, NY is planned for St. Patrick's Day weekend, March 17th, 18th and 19th. More information on the mall show and the 2017 schedule and returning sponsors will be forthcoming during the offseason.
