WOODHULL RACEWAY LOOSES JUNE 13 SHOW TO MOTHER NATURE.

(Woodhull, NY)  For the second time in 2009, Woodhull Raceway track owner, Vern Wasson was forced to cancel the show due to rain.  Heavy showers hit the track at around 3:30 Saturday afternoon and with a radar map showing more of the same all evening long. Wasson decided to pull the plug early in an attempt to save as many racers and fans an unnecessary trip.

“We had a downpour at the track just as we were ready to open the pit gates.  We had been tracking the ban of showers all afternoon on weather radar and it appeared as though we might be in trouble as the front was intensifying with each passing hour.  After the storm hit we could see more potential rain coming from the west and with gasoline now pushing the $3.00 mark the decision was made to try and save people an unnecessary expense.”

LaBarron Brothers Repair and Parts of Woodhull along with Precision Collision of Elkland who were scheduled to be the nightly event sponsors will be back at a later date.

Next week Lamb and Webster along with RLB Trucking will present a Regular Big 6 Show featuring a special event for the Morgan’s Auto Repair Street Stocks.

Gates for the June 20 show open at 4:30 with racing at 6:30.
