OPEN PRACTICE DATE RELEASED FOR THE WOODHULL RACEWAY.

(Woodhull, NY)   Saturday, April 11 from 6:00 until 9:00 pm will be the lone practice date for the Woodhull Raceway as they prepare to open the gates for the tracks 45th consecutive season of race activity.  The weekend of April 5 and 6 is generally still to wet at the track and with Easter Sunday falling on April 12 the track has opted to go with just one practice date prior to the tracks official opening on April 18.

Pit gates will open on Saturday at 4:00 pm with Free Grandstand entry.  A minimal fee will be charged for pit entry due to insurance regulations.  Concession stands offering food and beverages will be open as well.

Any driver that plans on racing at Woodhull during the 2009 season will be allowed plenty of track time to test, tune and tinker on their cars and track owner Vern Wasson looks at this is a perfect opportunity for racers in each class to shake down their new iron on Woodhull’s freshly groomed red clay.

“I hired Machuga Contractors of Bath in the fall of 2007 to re-clay the track stated Wasson.  They put as much as 3 feet on the bottom of the turns in places and it made for great racing last season. The track has wintered very, very well and the practice session on April 11 will give things a chance to get settled in even better prior to our season opener on April 18.”

In addition to practice, racers and fans will be able to purchase Season Tickets as well as reserve their seats for the 2009 season.
